Description
Paulin® Lag Bolt/Screw, Series: 854, Measurement System: Imperial, 3/8 in Thread, 3-1/2 in Overall Length, Low Carbon Steel, Hot Dipped Galvanized, Gimlet Point, Coarse Thread, 2-1/4 in Thread Length, Hex Head
Hex Head Lag Bolts are also called Lag Screws and are recommended for all types of wood or metal to wood construction where standard wood or deck screws are too short or light and where nails or spikes lack sufficient strength. They can be installed in wood with pre-drilled pilot holes or in masonry with lag shields. Galvanized plating enhances the bolt's resistance to corrosion and rust, making it ideal for outdoor or harsh environmental conditions.

Features
- Compared to stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant materials, galvanized fasteners offer a cost-effective solution for achieving durability and resistance to environmental elements Reduces the need for frequent replacement or maintenance of fasteners
- Pre-drilling a pilot hole is often required before driving a lag bolt into material to prevent splitting or damaging the wood or to ensure accurate placement
- Hex head allows them to be driven into wood or other soft materials with the aid of a wrench or socket, creating a robust and secure connection
- Lag bolts are typically used in construction and woodworking projects where a strong bond is necessary between two pieces of material, especially when one of the materials is wood
- Ability to distribute load across a wider area compared to standard screws or nails
- Minimum tensile strength of 60,000 pounds per square inch (psi)
