Mechanical counters are digital counters built using mechanical components. They typically consist of a series of disks mounted on an axle, with the digits 0 through 9 marked on their edge. They are used in traffic surveys, inventory control applications and point-of-sale (POS) transactions, copy machines, printing presses, cut-off machines and part-counting applications.
