A thumbscrew is a type of screw with a tall head and ridged or knurled sides, or a flat vertical head, intended to be tightened and loosened by hand. Used in applications where a fastener is frequently adjusted with easy-grip textured head that allows adjusting and installation to be done simply by hand.
