Pneumatic reducers are allow the use of smaller diameter tubing at the exit of a pneumatic fitting, the reducer is inserted into the fitting, then the smaller-diameter tube is connected to the reducer. Pneumatic expanders allow the use of larger diameter tubing at the exit of a pneumatic fitting, the expander is inserted into the fitting, then the larger-diameter tube is connected to the expander.
