A sheave is a pulley with a grooved wheel for holding a belt, wire rope, or rope. A pulley is a wheel on an axle or shaft that is designed to support movement and change of direction of a taut cable or belt, or transfer of power between the shaft and cable or belt. All the parts and accessories that are used in complement with the sheaves and pullies are termed and classified under sheave and pulley parts.
